Help keep your lakes beautiful by participating in the Great Lake Allatoona Clean up this Saturday, October 6th at 9 AM. Join more than 3400 volunteers to help keep Lake Allatoona clean and beautiful. After the work is done enjoy the volunteer appreciation picnic at Riverside Park, Cartersville GA from 12 PM – 2 PM. To celebrate this holiday, the Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic Site will host demonstrations of primitive skills essential to Native Americans of the Southeast in prehistoric times. Finish your weekend off with a Fun Run for a good cause. The Smile Run will begin Saturday, October 6th at 4 PM at the Etowah River Park. The primary beneficiary of The Smile Run is the Ralph Bunche Preschool in Cherokee County.  This preschool specializes in special needs, offering services such as teachers, therapists, and nurses.
